Removal Procedure

Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (L5Q)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LV7) .
  3. Fig 1: Fuel Feed Pipe And Retaining Clips

  4. Detach the push clip (1) from the front compartment side rail and detach the fuel feed pipe (3) from the fuel feed pipe clip (2).
  5. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
  6. Remove the engine control module. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
  7. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (without Engine Block Heater)Battery Tray Replacement (with Engine Block Heater) .

  9. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the EBCM and BPMV assembly (2).
  10. Clean all dirt and foreign material from the brake pipe fittings.

  12. Disconnect the brake pressure modulator valve secondary pipe fitting (1) from the master cylinder and drain the brake fluid out of the master cylinder.

  14. Disconnect the brake pressure modulator valve secondary pipe fitting (1) from the brake pressure modulator valve.

  16. Detach the brake pressure modulator secondary pipe (1) from the brake pipe clips (2).
  17. Remove the brake pressure modulator valve secondary pipe (1) from the vehicle.
