Installation Procedure

  1. Tilt the oil pump assembly in order to install the drive chain over the oil pump and crankshaft sprocket.

  2. Ensure the crankshaft is at TDC. Ensure the balancer shaft is aligned with the timing mark.

    NOTE: The oil pump drive chain sprocket, crankshaft sprocket and oil pump drive chain may best be installed together as a unit onto the crankshaft and balancer shaft.
  3. Install the oil pump drive chain (1).
  4. Once the drive chain is correctly positioned on the sprockets, tighten the oil pump bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  5. Remove the oil pump drive chain tensioner pin (1).

    NOTE: Ensure the tensioner spring is retained in the correct position prior to installation
  6. Install the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement (LV7) .
