Installation Procedure

- Ensure the crankshaft is at TDC. Ensure the balancer shaft is aligned with the timing mark.
NOTE: The oil pump drive chain sprocket, crankshaft sprocket and oil pump drive chain may best be installed together as a unit onto the crankshaft and balancer shaft.
- Align the timing chain on the balance chain with the corresponding timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket.
- Install the oil pump drive chain (3).
- Tighten the NEW oil pump sprocket bolt in the sequence shown.CAUTION: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Tighten the bolt a first pass to 10 N.m (89 lb in)NOTE: Ensure the tensioner spring is retained in the correct position prior to installation.
- Using the EN-45059 angle meter, tighten the bolts a final pass to 60 degrees.
- Tighten the bolt a first pass to 10 N.m (89 lb in)
- Install the oil pump drive chain tensioner (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
NOTE: Ensure the tensioner spring is retained in the correct position prior to installation
- Install the oil pump drive chain cover (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Remove the oil pump drive chain tensioner pin (1).
- Install the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement (L5Q) .
