Installation Procedure

- Coat the exhaust camshaft with lubricant. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers (Europe LV7)Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers (North America LV7) .
- Install the exhaust camshaft in the cylinder head.
- Ensure that the camshaft notch at the front of the camshaft is in the 12 O'clock position before installing the camshaft caps.
- Lubricate the 5 camshaft bearing caps (2, 3) and the 12 camshaft bearing cap bolts (3). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers (Europe LV7)Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers (North America LV7)
.NOTE: Observe the markings on the bearing caps. Each bearing cap is marked in order to identify its location. Ensure the caps are installed in the original location and position.
- Install the camshaft bearing cap (3).
- Install the camshaft bearing front cap (2).
- Loosely install the 12 camshaft bearing cap bolts (1) by hand.
