Installation Procedure

  1. Coat the exhaust camshaft with lubricant. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers (Europe LV7)Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers (North America LV7) .

  2. Install the exhaust camshaft in the cylinder head.
  3. Ensure that the camshaft notch at the front of the camshaft is in the 12 O'clock position before installing the camshaft caps.
  4. Lubricate the 5 camshaft bearing caps (2, 3) and the 12 camshaft bearing cap bolts (3). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers (Europe LV7)Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers (North America LV7) .
    NOTE: Observe the markings on the bearing caps. Each bearing cap is marked in order to identify its location. Ensure the caps are installed in the original location and position.
  5. Install the camshaft bearing cap (3).
  6. Install the camshaft bearing front cap (2).
  7. Loosely install the 12 camshaft bearing cap bolts (1) by hand.
