Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Chevrolet Spark. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the timing chain (1).
NOTE: Ensure the actuator timing marks are approximately the 12 O'clock position.
- Ensure that the colored link (3) matches to the arrow on the crankshaft sprocket.
- Ensure that the colored links (1, 2) match to the marks on the camshaft position adjuster actuators.
- Install a NEW gasket (2).
- Install the timing chain tensioner (1).
- Install the 2 timing chain tensioner bolt (4) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Remove the suitable tool (3) from the timing chain tensioner.
- Install the timing chain tensioner shoe (2).
- Install the timing chain tensioner shoe bolt (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Remove the EN-51632 holder (1).
- Install the timing chain upper guide. Refer to Timing Chain Upper Guide Replacement .
- Check the position of the crankshaft, camshaft and camshaft position actuator adjuster.
- Install the engine front cover with 4 bolts and the crankshaft balancer.
- Turn crankshaft 720 degrees in the direction of engine rotation by the crankshaft balancer bolt (2).
- Install the EN-51632 holder (1).
- If the EN-51632 holder (1) can be installed, the engine timing is properly adjusted.
- Remove the EN-51632 holder (1).
- Remove the engine front cover and crankshaft balancer.
- Install the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement (LV7) .
- Install the camshaft cover. Refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement (LV7) .
