Removal Procedure

- Remove the camshaft cover. Refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement (L5Q) .
- Adjust the engine to cylinder 1 top dead center (TDC) of combustion stroke. Set crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until the markings (1, 2) line up. Rotate at the crankshaft balancer bolt (3).
- Install the EN-51632 camshaft locking tool (1).
- Remove the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement (L5Q) .
- Release the tension by pushing the tensioner and insert the EN-49073 timing chain tensioner pin (1) to the timing chain tensioner (2).
- Remove the timing chain tensioner bolts (1) and timing chain tensioner (2) with timing chain tensioner gasket (3).
- Remove the timing chain tensioner shoe bolt (1) and remove the timing chain shoe (2).
- Remove the 3 timing chain guide - exhaust side bolts (3) and remove the timing chain guide - exhaust side (4).
- Remove the 2 timing chain guide - cylinder side bolts (5) and remove the timing chain guide - cylinder side (6).
- Remove the camshaft timing chain (1).
