Installation Procedure

- Align the first timing chain link with the intake actuator timing mark.

NOTE: Ensure the actuator timing marks and the crankshaft sprocket keyway are at the 12 O'Clock position.NOTE: Ensure the correct timing link is aligned with the timing mark. The color of the actuator timing links are the same and the color of the crankshaft sprocket timing link is unique. - Align the second timing chain link with the exhaust actuator timing mark.
- Align the final timing chain link with the crankshaft sprocket timing mark.
- Install the timing chain tensioner shoe (2), install the timing chain shoe bolt (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Install the timing chain guide - exhaust side (4), install the 3 timing chain guide - exhaust side bolts (3) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in)
- Install the timing chain upper guide - cylinder side (6), install the 2 timing chain upper guide - cylinder side bolts (5) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the timing chain tensioner (2) with gasket (3). And tighten the timing chain tensioner retaining bolts (1) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Remove the EN-49073 timing chain tensioner pin (1) from the timing chain tensioner (2).
- Install the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement (L5Q) .
- Remove the EN-51632 camshaft locking tool (1).
- Install the camshaft cover. Refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement (L5Q) .
