Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the automatic transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
  2. Install EN-652  holder EN-652  , lock the flywheel via the starter ring gear.

Special Tools

  • EN-652  Flywheel Holder
  • EN-45059  Angle Meter
Equivalent regional tools: Special Tools
1 Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Bolt (Qty: 8)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten the NEW flywheel bolts in the sequence shown.

Procedure

  1. Tighten the bolts a first pass to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
  2. Tighten the bolts a second pass to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
  3. Using the EN-45059  angle meter, tighten the bolt a final pass 70 degrees.
  4. Remove EN-652  holder once final torque is achieved.
NOTE: Bolts have adhesive patch and must be tightened to final torque within 5 minutes.
