Pressure Control Solenoid Valve 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector: Q8 Control Solenoid Valve Assembly
  2. Test for the resistance listed below between the test points:
    NOTE:
    • When test probing harness terminals, it is imperative to use the proper test probe from the most current version of the J-35616  GM-Approved Terminal Test Kit. Use of an improper test probe may deform the terminal, resulting in intermittent open conditions.
    • Testing for Step 2 is performed on the Q8 Control Solenoid Valve Assembly connector using the GY probe J-35616-19
    • Control circuit terminal 1 & Chassis Ground
    • Control circuit terminal 2 & Chassis Ground
    • Control circuit terminal 6 & Chassis Ground
    • Control circuit terminal 7 & Chassis Ground
    • Control circuit terminal 8 & Chassis Ground
    • If the resistance is not within the specified range for the given temperature

Replace the component: Q8 Control Solenoid Valve Assembly

    • If the resistance is within the specified range for the given temperature
  3. Q77 Transmission Control Solenoid Valve=1, 2, 3, 4, 5 OK
