The Secondary Pulley Speed Sensor, also known as the Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor or the B14B Transmission Turbine Speed Sensor, is a three wire hall-effect sensor. The secondary pulley speed sensor provides secondary pulley speed information to the transmission control module. The secondary pulley speed sensor is mounted on the upper left rear of the transmission facing the secondary pulley reluctor wheel. As the secondary pulley rotates, the toothed rotor wheel passes through the magnetic field of the secondary pulley speed sensor and produces an AC voltage. The AC voltage level and the number of pulses increase as the speed of the pulley increases. The transmission control module converts the voltage to secondary pulley speed. The transmission control module uses the secondary pulley speed to control and determine pulley ratios. The transmission control module supplies a B+ (+0.0/-2.0 V) sensor signal circuit, an Ignition 1 voltage circuit and a low reference circuit to the secondary pulley speed sensor.
