Circuit/System Verification

  1. Verify the fuse is not open: F06 Fuse-X50A Fuse Block - Underhood
    • If the fuse is open 

      Test the Transmission Control Module Clutch Solenoid Enable A circuit, 5V Reference circuit and all components connected to the 5V Reference circuit for a short to ground.

    • If the fuse is not open 
  2. Ignition On - Engine Off
  3. Verify DTC P0562, P0563 is not set.
    • If the DTC is set - Refer to DTC P0562, P0563 
    • If the DTC is not set 
  4. Engine Running & Transmission in Park & Brake pedal not pressed.
  5. Verify the scan tool parameter: Primary Pulley Speedvaries with engine RPM and does not drop out.
    • If the Primary Pulley Speed does not vary with engine speed or drops out 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing

    • If the Primary Pulley Speed varies with engine speed and does not drop out 
  6. Verify DTC P0717 is only set as a history DTC.
    • If set as a current DTC 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing

    • If the DTC is set as history 
  7. Perform the following procedure/test: Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections - Repair as necessary
  8. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
    • If the DTC sets - Refer to Circuit/System Testing. 
    • If the DTC does not set 
  9. All OK.
