K71 Transmission Control Module
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Chevrolet Spark. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OffNOTE: Circuit/System Testing must be performed before proceeding to K71 Transmission Control Module testing.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: @Q8 Control Solenoid Valve Assembly
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service ModeNOTE:
- When test probing harness terminals, it is imperative to use the proper test probe from the most current version of the J-35616 GM-Approved Terminal Test Kit. Use of an improper test probe may deform the terminal, resulting in intermittent open conditions.
- Testing for steps 3-x is performed on the Q8 Control Solenoid Valve Assembly harness using the GY probe J-35616-2A.
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Transmission Fluid Temperature= -40°C (-40°F)
- If the Transmission Fluid Temperature parameter does not display -40°C (-40°F).
Replace the component: K71 Transmission Control Module
- If the Transmission Fluid Temperature parameter does display -40°C (-40°F)
- If the Transmission Fluid Temperature parameter does not display -40°C (-40°F).
- Connect a 3 A fused jumper wire between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 12 Low Reference terminal 12
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Transmission Fluid Temperature=180°C (356°F)
- If the Transmission Fluid Temperature parameter does not display 180°C (356°F).
Replace the component: K71 Transmission Control Module
- If the Transmission Fluid Temperature parameter does display 180°C (356°F)
- If the Transmission Fluid Temperature parameter does not display 180°C (356°F).
- All OK.
