Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
    WARNING: The transmission fluid is hot. Caution must be taken to prevent personal injury when the transmission fluid drains from the transmission.
  2. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission case plug area.

  3. Remove and discard the transmission case oil drain plug (2).
  4. Drain transmission fluid into a suitable container.
  5. Remove and discard the transmission case oil level check plug (1).
