Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (without Engine Block Heater)Battery Tray Replacement (with Engine Block Heater) .
  2. Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable (1) from the shift control housing (3).

  3. Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable (2) from the selector and shift lever cable bracket (4).
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable bracket nuts (1) from the underbody.

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  8. Disconnect the shift lever and selector lever cable (1) from the transmission control lever.

  9. Release the cable retainers (2) and remove the shift lever and selector lever cable (3) from the transmission control housing.
  10. Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable grommet nuts (1).

  11. Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable from the vehicle.
