Counter Gear Shaft Disassemble

Special Tools 

J-22912-B  Gear, Bearing Remover

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

  1. Remove the gear unit. Refer to Transmission Disassemble .

  2. Remove the counter shaft right side bearing.
  3. Position the 4th gear to the J-22912-B  gear, bearing remover (3).

  4. Remove the counter shaft left bearing (1) and 4th gear (2) using a press.
  5. Remove the counter shaft 3rd-4th gear spacer (1).

  6. Position the 2nd gear to the J-22912-B  gear, bearing remover (4).
  7. Remove the 3rd gear (2) and 2nd gear (3) with the press.
  8. Remove the counter shaft 2nd gear bearing (1).

  9. Remove the 2nd gear synchronizer ring (2).
  10. Remove the 1st-2nd gear synchronizer circlip (3).
  11. Position the 1st gear to the J-22912-B  gear, bearing remover (3).

  12. Remove the 1st-2nd gear synchronizer hub assembly (1), 1st gear synchronizer ring and 1st gear (2) with the press.
  13. Remove the 1st gear synchronizer ring from the 1st gear.
  14. Push the hub (1) from the 1st-2nd gear synchronizer hub assembly.

  15. Disassemble the synchronizer sleeve (2) and key units (3).
  16. Remove the counter shaft 1st gear bearing (1) and the 1st gear spacer (2).
