Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Chevrolet Spark. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Intake Air Pressure Measurement System consists of (2) sensors, the barometric pressure (BARO) sensor, integrated within the multifunction intake air sensor, and the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor.

The diagnostic first checks both of the pressure sensors to make sure that they are within an upper and lower boundary that is defined by the possible range of atmospheric pressure. Any sensor that is outside of this range will result in the appropriate rationality fault being set. Next, the diagnostic compares the sensor values. If the sensor values differ by too much, a fault will be set. If the diagnostic can reconcile which sensor is irrational, the rationality fault for that sensor will be set. If the diagnostic sees irrational behavior, but cannot determine which sensor is at fault, a P00C7 fault will be set.
