Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW catalytic converter gasket. (2).

  2. Install the catalytic converter (1) and NEW gasket (2) to the vehicle.
  3. Install the catalytic converter nut (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the catalytic converter heat shield bolts and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the heated oxygen sensor 1 connector.

  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  7. Install the catalytic converter brace bracket (3).

  8. Install the catalytic converter brace bracket bolts (1), nuts (2) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  9. Install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
  10. Install the exhaust muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LV7) .
  11. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  12. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  13. Close the hood.
