Removal Procedure

Open the hood.
Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Remove the exhaust muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement (L5Q) .
Remove the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
Remove the catalytic converter mounting nut (1).

Loosen the catalytic converter bracket bolts (1).

Lower the vehicle.
Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor 1 connector.

Remove the catalytic converter heat shield bolts (1) and remove the catalytic converter heat shield.

Remove the catalytic converter nuts (1).

Remove the catalytic converter (2) and gasket.
Remove the lower right side stud bolt (1) from the cylinder head assembly.

Remove the catalytic converter from the vehicle.
