Installation Procedure

  1. Using the adjustable jack, slowly raise and reposition the fuel tank (3) in order to install the fuel tank to the vehicle.

    NOTE: Second technician required.
    NOTE: Retract the jack.
  2. Install the 2 fuel tank straps (1) and 4 fuel tank strap bolts (2). Tighten the bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Connect the fuel feed/evaporative emission separator (2) to the fuel feed pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  4. Install the fuel feed/evaporative emission separator assembly (1) to the fuel tank. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  5. Connect the fuel feed/evaporative emission separator pipe (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  6. Install the fuel tank filler pipe to the fuel tank (4) and tighten the fuel tank filler clamp (1).
  7. Connect the fuel tank wiring harness connector (1).
  8. Install the exhaust muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement (L5Q)Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LV7) .
  9. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  10. Connect the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
