Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Open the fuel filler door and filler cap.
  3. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  4. Remove the right rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  5. Remove the 3 fuel tank filler pipe bolts (1).

  6. Lift and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  7. Remove the fuel tank filler pipe bracket bolt (4).

    WARNING: Do not breathe the air through the EVAP component tubes or hoses. The fuel vapors inside the EVAP components may cause personal injury.
  8. Loosen the fuel tank filler pipe clamp (1).
  9. Disconnect the fuel feed/evaporative emission separator pipe (3) from the fuel tank filler pipe (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  10. Remove the fuel tank filler pipe (2) from the vehicle.
