Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Replacement (L5Q)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  3. Disconnect the Radiator outlet clamp and hose.
1 Engine Coolant Thermostat Bolt (Qty: 2)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure 
Remove the engine coolant thermostat bolts (1).
Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
2 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing
3 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Gasket
NOTE: Install a new gasket.
