Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
The oil pump drive chain sprocket, crankshaft sprocket, and oil pump drive chain may best be installed together as a unit onto the crankshaft and balancer shaft.
Ensure the crankshaft is at TDC. Ensure the balancer shaft is aligned with the timing mark.
- Align the timing chain on the balance chain with the corresponding timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket.
- Install the oil pump drive chain (3).
- Tighten the NEW oil pump sprocket bolt in the following sequence.
- Tighten the bolt a first pass to 10 N.m (89 lb in)
- Using the EN-45059 angle meter, tighten the bolts a final pass to 60 degrees.
NOTE:Ensure the tensioner spring is retained in the correct position prior to installation.

Install the oil pump drive chain tensioner (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Install the oil pump drive chain cover (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Remove the oil pump drive chain tensioner pin (1).
- Install the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement .
