Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (L5Q) .
- Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.
- Remove the manifold absolute pressure sensor. Refer to Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Replacement .
- Remove the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement .
- Disconnect the fuel feed line quick connect fitting from the fuel rail.

NOTE:
Bolt retainers may keep the bolts in position on the assembly.
Remove the intake manifold bolts (1).
- Remove the camshaft cover. Refer to Camshaft Cover Removal (L5Q) .

Remove the intake manifold (3) with throttle body assembly (1) and fuel injector fuel rail assembly (2) from the engine.
- Discard the intake manifold gasket (4).

Remove the throttle body assembly bolts (1) and remove the throttle body assembly (2) from the intake manifold.
- Remove the fuel injector fuel rail assembly bolts (3) and remove the fuel injector fuel rail assembly from the intake manifold.
- Remove the intake manifold (5).
- Transfer parts as necessary.
