Removal Procedure
- Remove the camshaft cover. Refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement .
Adjust the engine to cylinder 1 top dead center (TDC) of combustion stroke. Set crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until the markings (1, 2) line up. Rotate at the crankshaft balancer bolt (3).
Install the EN-51632 camshaft locking tool (1).
- Remove the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement (L5Q) .
Release the tension by pushing the tensioner and insert the EN-49073 timing chain tensioner pin (1) to the timing chain tensioner (2).
Remove the timing chain tensioner bolts (1) and timing chain tensioner (2) with timing chain tensioner gasket (3).

Remove the timing chain tensioner shoe bolt (1) and remove the timing chain shoe (2).
- Remove the 3 timing chain guide - exhaust side bolts (3) and remove the timing chain guide - exhaust side (4).
- Remove the 2 timing chain guide - cylinder side bolts (5) and remove the timing chain guide - cylinder side (6).
Remove the camshaft timing chain (1).
