Installation Procedure
Install the transmission range selector lever cable to the vehicle.
- Install the transmission range selector lever cable grommet (1) to the cowl panel.
Install the transmission range selector lever cable (2) to the cable bracket (3).
Install the transmission range selector lever cable retainer (1) to the shift lever base. (4).
- Ensure the transmission control is in the Park position, then install the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (2) to the shift lever pin (3).
Position the access plate (2) to the console, then install the fasteners (1).
- Connect the wiring harness (3) to the access plate.
- WARNING:
After installing the transmission range selector shift cable, pull up and push down on ALL connections to verify that the connections are fully seated and properly engaged. Failure to perform this task can result in the vehicle not being able to shift into PARK causing potential vehicle damage and bodily injury.
Connect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (4) to the transmission manual shift lever pin.
- Secure the shift cable lock into place. Remove the lock retainer (2), if installing a NEW cable. Ensure that the lock (1) is properly seated.
- Place the engine control module back to it's installed position. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement (LFX) .
- Install the left front floor console extension panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Replacement - Left Side .
Ensure that the shift lever and the transmission control are in the Park positions.
