Circuit/System Verification
- Engine idling, transmission in Park, with parking brake applied and drive wheels chocked.
- Verify the transmission fluid level and condition is correct. Refer to Transmission Fluid Level and Condition Check .
- If the transmission fluid level and condition is not correct
Repair as necessary.
- Go to next step: If the transmission fluid level and condition is correct
- If the transmission fluid level and condition is not correct
- Clear the ECM and TCM DTCs with a scan tool.
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
- Verify DTC P171D is not set.
- If DTC P171D sets
- Replace the Transmission Fluid Pressure Accumulator.
- Verify DTC P171D does not set while performing a road test. Refer to: Road Test
- If the DTC sets - Inspect the transmission for mechanical conditions listed in Diagnostic Fault Information.
- If the DTC does not set
- All OK.
- Go to next step: If DTC P171D does not set
- All OK.

NOTE:
If other DTCs are set, diagnose those DTCs first.
