Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- K20 Engine Control Module
- K71 Transmission Control Module
- Test for less than 1 V between the test points: Serial Data circuit terminal 31 @ K71 Transmission Control Module & The other end of the circuit
- If greater than 1 V
Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 1 V
- If greater than 1 V
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Serial Data circuit terminal 31 @ K71 Transmission Control Module & Ground
- If less than infinite resistance
Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- Test for less than 10 Ω between the test points: Serial Data circuit terminal 31 @ K71 Transmission Control Module & The other end of the circuit
- If greater than 10 Ω
Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 10 Ω
- If greater than 10 Ω
- Replace the component: K71 Transmission Control Module
- Verify DTC P189C is not set.
- If the DTC sets
Replace the component: K20 Engine Control Module
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
NOTE:
It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down before an accurate ground or low reference circuit continuity test can be performed.
