Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the timing chain lower cover. Refer to Timing Chain Lower Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the crankshaft pulley. Refer to Crankshaft Pulley Replacement .
  3. Fig 1: Crankshaft Pulley Bolts

  4. Install the 4 crankshaft pulley bolts (1).

    NOTE:

    If the bores not aligned turn the crankshaft at the crankshaft pulley bolts.

  6. Check if the bores (1) are aligned.

    Turn the exhaust camshaft at the hexagon so far if the EN-51143  fixing tool (1) can be installed.

  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  9. Remove the 4 crankshaft pulley bolts (1).

  11. Install EN-51140  fixing tool (2).
  12. Install the fixing pin into the engine block bore (1) and tighten the 2 bolts (3).
  13. If the EN-51140  fixing tool can not installed. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Adjustment .
  14. Lower the vehicle.

  16. Tension the timing chain tensioner (1) in arrow direction.
  17. Install the EN-50513  pin (2).

  19. Remove the 2 timing chain lower guide bolts (2).
  20. Remove the timing chain lower guide (1).
