Removal Procedure

  1. Remove Timing Chain Upper Cover. Refer to Timing Chain Upper Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove Oil Pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  3. Fig 1: Engine Lift Bracket And Bolt

  4. Install Engine Lift Bracket-Left Side (1)
  5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  6. Install and tighten Engine Lift Bracket Bolt (2) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)

  8. Install Engine Lift Bracket-Right Side (1)
  9. Install and tighten Engine Lift Bracket Bolt (2) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).
  10. Remove Crankshaft Position Reluctor Ring. Refer to Crankshaft Position Sensor Reluctor Ring Replacement .

  12. Remove Crankshaft Position Sensor Bolt (1)
  13. Remove the crankshaft position sensor retainer spring (3).
  14. Remove Crankshaft Position Sensor (2)

  16. Remove the 11 timing chain lower cover bolts (1).
  17. Remove Timing Chain Lower Cover (2) - Use a suitable tool.
  18. Remove and DISCARD the gaskets. (3) (Qty: 2)
  19. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal, if the timing chain lower cover reused.
