Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement 
  2. Fig 1: Crankshaft Sprocket Marks

    NOTE:

    Depending on the crankshaft, two different marks (1) and (3) or none (2) can be located on the crankshaft sprocket.

  3. Mark the crankshaft sprocket align with the timing chain idler sprocket if there is no mark.

  5. Install the EN-51141  fixing tool (1) to the timing chain idler sprocket (2).

  7. Remove the 3 timing chain idler sprocket bolts (1).
  8. NOTE:

    If the timing chain idler sprocket will be reused, do not remove the EN-51141  fixing tool (2).

  9. Remove the timing chain idler sprocket (3) from the engine block.
