Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
    NOTE:

    Before installing the oil pump drive chain tensioner, check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear.

  1. Check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear:
    • Timing chain guides with plastic attachment
    • Timing chain tensioner and timing chain tensioner shoe with plastic attachment
    • Timing chain and all timing chain sprockets
    • Oil pump sprocket
    • Oil pump drive chain tensioner

  2. Install the oil pump drive chain tensioner (1).
  3. Install the oil pump drive chain tensioner bolts (2, 4).
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Tighten the oil pump drive chain tensioner bolt (2) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  5. Tighten the oil pump drive chain tensioner bolt (4) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Remove the EN-50513  fixing pin (2).
  7. Install the timing chain lower cover. Refer to Timing Chain Lower Cover Replacement .
