Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement 
  2. Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement (LH7)
  3. Remove Camshaft Sprocket. Refer to Camshaft Sprocket Replacement 
  4. Remove Glow Plugs (Qty: 4). Refer to Glow Plug Replacement

  6. Remove Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Bolts (1) (Qty: 2)
  7. Remove Fuel Injection Fuel Rail (2)

  9. Remove the EN-51143  fixing tool (1).

  11. Remove the 4 camshaft bearing rear cap bolts (1).
  12. Remove Camshaft Bearing Rear Cap (2)

    NOTE:

    Marking the camshaft sprockets.

  14. Marking the exhaust camshaft sprocket and intake camshaft sprocket with paint marks (1).

  16. Install the EN-50509  fixing tool (1) to the exhaust camshaft sprocket (2).

  18. Loosen the 8 intake camshaft bearing cap bolts in sequence as shown.

  20. Remove the 8 intake camshaft bearing cap bolts (1).
  21. Remove the 4 intake camshaft bearing caps (2) and lay aside in the order as they were removed.

  23. Remove Intake Camshaft (1)

  25. Loosen the 8 exhaust camshaft bearing cap bolts in sequence as shown.

  27. Remove the 8 exhaust camshaft bearing cap bolts (1).
  28. Remove the 4 exhaust camshaft bearing caps (2) and lay aside in the order as they were removed.

    NOTE:

    Do not remove the EN-50509  fixing tool.

  30. Remove Exhaust Camshaft (1)

  32. Remove the bearing bracket (1).

  34. Remove the 16 valve lifter with valve lifter roller (1) and lay aside in the order as they was removed.

  36. Remove the upper timing chain upper guide bolt (2).
  37. Loosen the timing chain upper guide (1) by loosen the lower bolt (3).

  39. Remove Engine Mount Bracket Bolts (1) (Qty: 2)

  41. Remove and DISCARD the 2 outer cylinder head bolts (1).

  43. Loosen the 10 cylinder head bolts in sequence as shown step by step.

  45. Remove and DISCARD Cylinder Head Bolts (1) (Qty: 10)
  46. NOTE:

    Ensure the guide sleeves (4) are properly seated in the engine block.

  47. Remove Cylinder Head (2)
  48. Remove and DISCARD Cylinder Head Gasket (3)
  49. Disassemble the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Disassemble
