Removal Procedure

- Remove Fuel Injectors (1) (Qty: 4). Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement
- Remove Camshaft Housing (2). Refer to Camshaft Housing Replacement
- Remove Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Housing (1). Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Housing Replacement
- Remove Oxidation Catalytic Converter. Refer to Oxidation Catalytic Converter Replacement (LH7)
- Remove Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Connector Fitting (5). Refer to Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Connector Fitting Replacement
- Remove Timing Chain Upper Cover (2). Refer to Timing Chain Upper Cover Replacement
- Install Engine Lift Bracket - Right Side (1) @ Cylinder Head
- Install and tighten Engine Lift Bracket Bolt (2) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
- Install Engine Lift Bracket - Left Side (1) @ Cylinder Head
- Install and tighten Engine Lift Bracket Bolt (2) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
- Remove Transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)Transmission Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Remove Crankshaft Position Sensor Reluctor Ring (1). Refer to Crankshaft Position Sensor Reluctor Ring Replacement
- Remove Oil Pan (2). Refer to Oil Pan Replacement
- Remove Timing Chain Lower Cover (2). Refer to Timing Chain Lower Cover Replacement
- Remove Crankshaft Pulley (1). Refer to Crankshaft Pulley Replacement
- Install Crankshaft Pulley Bolts (1) (Qty: 4)
- Lower the vehicle.
- Check if the bores (1) are aligned.
- Turn the exhaust camshaft at the hexagon so far so that the EN-51143 fixing tool (1) can be installed.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove Crankshaft Pulley Bolts (1) (Qty: 4)
- Install EN-51140 Fixing Tool (2)
- Install the fixing pin into the engine block bore (1) and tighten the 2 bolts (3).
- If the EN-51140 fixing tool can not installed. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Adjustment
- Lower the vehicle.
- Tension the timing chain tensioner (1) in arrow direction.
- Install EN-50513 Pin (2)
- Remove Timing Chain Tensioner Shoe Bolt (2)
- Remove Timing Chain Tensioner Shoe (1)
- Remove Timing Chain Lower Guide Bolts (2) (Qty: 2)
- Remove Timing Chain Lower Guide (1)
- Loosen Timing Chain Upper Guide Bolt (1)
- Remove Timing Chain Upper Guide Bolt (3)
- Move the timing chain upper guide in the direction of arrow.
- Remove Timing Chain (1)
- Remove the upper timing chain upper guide bolt (2).
- Remove Timing Chain Upper Guide (1)
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution
NOTE:
If the bores are not aligned, turn the crankshaft at the crankshaft pulley bolts.
