Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- Remove Camshaft Housing. Refer to Camshaft Housing Replacement
- Remove Crankshaft Pulley. Refer to Crankshaft Pulley Replacement
- Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Check if the bores (1) are aligned.
- Rotate the crankshaft, if the bores (1) are not aligned.
- Install the EN-51143 fixing tool (1).
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install EN-51140 fixing tool (2).
- Install the fixing pin into the engine block bore (1) and tighten the 2 bolts (3).
- If the fixing pin does not fit into the engine block bore, the camshaft timing must be adjusted. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Adjustment .
NOTE:
Check the TDC position of cylinder 1.
NOTE:
Turn the exhaust camshaft at the hexagon until the EN-51143 fixing tool can be installed.
