Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Before installation, check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear.

  1. Check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear:
    • Timing chain guides with plastic attachment
    • Timing chain tensioner and timing chain tensioner shoe with plastic attachment
    • Timing chain and all timing chain sprockets
    • Oil pump sprocket
    • Oil pump drive chain tensioner
    2. Fig 1: Crankshaft Fixing Tool

  2. Remove the 2 bolts (3).
  3. Remove the EN-51140  fixing tool (2).
  4. Lower the vehicle.

  5. Remove the EN-51143  fixing tool (1).
  6. Raise the vehicle.
  7. Install Crankshaft Pulley. Refer to Crankshaft Pulley Replacement 
  8. Install Camshaft Housing. Refer to Camshaft Housing Replacement 
  9. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
