Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  2. Remove Fuel Injectors (Qty: 4). Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement
    3. Fig 1: Engine Wiring Harness, Conduit Bolts And Clips

  3. Remove Engine Wiring Harness Conduit Bolts (1) (Qty: 2)
  4. Unclip Wiring Harness Clips (2, 4) (Qty: 3)
  5. Position aside Engine Wiring Harness (3)
    6. Fig 2: Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose And Retainer Clip

  6. Unclip Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (1) @ Retainer Clip (2)
  7. Position aside Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (1)

  8. Unclip Wiring Harness Clips (1) (Qty: 2) @ Exhaust Temperature Sensor Bracket (4)
  9. Unclip Clip (2) @ Exhaust Temperature Sensor Bracket (4)
  10. Position aside Wiring Harness (3)

  11. Remove Exhaust Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector Bracket Bolts (1, 2) (Qty: 3)
  12. Remove Exhaust Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector Bracket (3)

  13. Remove Positive Crankcase Ventilation Heater (1)
    1. Press the positive crankcase ventilation heater at the 2 checkered places (2).
    2. Pull the positive crankcase ventilation heater up to remove.

  14. Disconnect Electrical Connector (2) @ Positive Crankcase Ventilation Heater (1)
  15. Unclip Wiring Harness Clip (4)
  16. Position aside Wiring Harness (3)

  17. Loosen Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamps (1, 2) (Qty: 2)
  18. Remove Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (3)

  19. Unclip Wiring Harness Clips (3) (Qty: 2)
  20. Remove Engine Lift Bracket Bolt (2)
  21. Remove Engine Lift Bracket (1)

  22. Remove Engine Control Module and Engine Wiring Harness Bracket Bolts (1) (Qty: 2)
  23. Position aside Engine Control Module Wiring Harness Bracket (2)

    NOTE:

    Do not bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position.

  24. Remove Nitrogen Oxides Sensor (2)

  25. Remove Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolts (1) (Qty: 4)
  26. Remove Turbocharger Heat Shield Nut (3)
  27. Remove Turbocharger Heat Shield (2)

  28. Remove Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolts (1) (Qty: 2)
  29. Unclip Turbocharger Heat Shield (2) @ Clamp (3)
  30. Remove Turbocharger Heat Shield (2)

  31. Remove Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Pipe Bolts (1, 3) (Qty: 3)
  32. Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator pipe nut (5).
  33. Position aside Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Pipe (2)
  34. Position aside Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe (4)

  35. Remove Engine Lift Bracket Bolt (2)
  36. Remove Engine Lift Bracket (1)

  38. Remove Camshaft Housing Bolt - Outer (4) (Qty: 15)
  39. Remove Camshaft Housing Bolt - Inner (1, 2) (Qty: 5)
  40. Remove Camshaft Housing (3)
  41. Remove and DISCARD Camshaft Housing Gasket (5)
