Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Camshaft Housing, Gasket, Bolts, Bushings And Insulators

  1. Install NEW Camshaft Housing Gasket (5) @ Camshaft Housing (4)
  2. Install Camshaft Housing Bolt (2) (Qty: 20) @ Camshaft Housing (4)
  3. Ensure the camshaft housing bolt bushings (3) and the camshaft housing cover insulators (1) are seated properly.

    NOTE:

    Mind the different bolts.

  4. Install the camshaft housing cover (3) along with the camshaft housing gasket (5) and the 20 camshaft housing bolts (1, 2, 4).
  5. Hand tighten Camshaft Housing Bolts (1, 2, 4) (Qty: 20)

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  6. Tighten Camshaft Housing Bolts in sequence (Qty: 20) to 10 N.m (89 lb in)

  7. Install Engine Oil Level Indicator (1)

  8. Install Engine Lift Bracket (1)
  9. Install and tighten Engine Lift Bracket Bolt (2) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)

  10. Reposition Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe (4)
  11. Reposition Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Pipe (2)
  12. Install the turbocharger wastegate actuator pipe nut (5) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in)
  13. Install and tighten Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Pipe Bolts (1, 3) (Qty: 3) to 10 N.m (89 lb in)

  14. Install Turbocharger Heat Shield (2)
  15. Install Turbocharger Heat Shield (2) @ Clamp (3)
  16. Install and tighten Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolts (1) (Qty: 2) to 10 N.m (89 lb in)

  17. Install Turbocharger Heat Shield (2)
  18. Install and tighten Turbocharger Heat Shield Nut (3) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  19. Install and tighten Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolts (1) (Qty: 4) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

    NOTE:

    Do not bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position

  20. Install and tighten Nitrogen Oxides Sensor (2) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft)

  21. Reposition Engine Control Module Wiring Harness Bracket (2)
  22. Install and tighten Engine Control Module and Engine Wiring Harness Bracket Bolts (1) (Qty: 2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  23. Install Engine Lift Bracket (1)
  24. Install and tighten Engine Lift Bracket Bolt (2) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
  25. Install Wiring Harness Clips (3) (Qty: 2)

    NOTE:

    Ensure the outlet duct is fully seated to the mating surfaces before clamping. Verify that the cuff is not rolled under.

  26. Install Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (3)
    27. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  27. Tighten Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamps (1, 2) (Qty: 2) to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in)

  28. Reposition Wiring Harness (3)
  29. Connect Electrical Connector (2) @ Positive Crankcase Ventilation Heater (1)
  30. Install Wiring Harness Clip (4)

    NOTE:

    There must be a noticeable click noise.

  31. Install Positive Crankcase Ventilation Heater (1)

  32. Install Exhaust Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector Bracket (3)
  33. Install and tighten Exhaust Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector Bracket Bolts (1, 2) (Qty: 3) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  35. Install Clip (2) @ Exhaust Temperature Sensor Bracket (4)
  36. Install Wiring Harness Clips (1) (Qty: 2) @ Exhaust Temperature Sensor Bracket (4)

  37. Reposition Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (1)
  38. Install Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (1) @ Retainer Clip (2)

  39. Reposition Engine Wiring Harness (3)
  40. Install Wiring Harness Clips (2, 4) (Qty: 3)
  41. Install and tighten Engine Wiring Harness Conduit Bolts (1) (Qty: 2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  42. Install Fuel Injectors (Qty: 4). Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement
  43. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
