Timing Chain Tensioner Installation

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

NOTE:

Before installing the timing chain tensioner, check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear.

1. Check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear:
   • Timing chain guides with plastic attachment
   • Timing chain tensioner and timing chain tensioner shoe with plastic attachment
   • Timing chain and all timing chain sprockets
   • Oil pump sprocket
   • Oil pump drive chain tensioner

2. Install the timing chain tensioner (1).
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

3. Install the 2 timing chain tensioner bolts (3) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Remove the EN-50513  pin (2).
