Timing Chain Idler Sprocket Installation

EN-51141  Intermediate Drive Gear Fixing Tool

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools 

NOTE:

Before installing the timing chain idler sprocket, check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear.

1. Check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear:
   • Timing chain guides with plastic attachment
   • Timing chain tensioner and timing chain tensioner shoe with plastic attachment
   • Timing chain and all timing chain sprockets
   • Oil pump sprocket
   • Oil pump drive chain tensioner

2. Install the gear shaft distributor (1) to the engine block (2).

3. Install the timing chain idler sprocket (2), by align the marks (1) with the timing chain idler sprocket and the crankshaft sprocket (3).

4. Install the timing chain idler sprocket bearing plate (2).
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

5. Install the 3 timing chain idler sprocket bolts (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
6. Remove the EN-51141  fixing tool (3).
