Oil Pump Drive Chain And Sprocket Installation

• EN-45059  Angle Meter
• EN-51142  Oil Pump Sprocket Unit Holding Tool

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

NOTE:

Before installing the oil pump drive chain, check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear.

1. Check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear:
   • Timing chain guides with plastic attachment
   • Timing chain tensioner and timing chain tensioner shoe with plastic attachment
   • Timing chain and all timing chain sprockets
   • Oil pump sprocket
   • Oil pump drive chain tensioner

2. Install the oil pump drive chain (2) to the oil pump drive chain sprocket (1).
3. Install the oil pump sprocket (3) to the oil pump shaft (5).
4. Install a NEW oil pump sprocket bolt (4).

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

CAUTION:

Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

5. Tighten the NEW oil pump sprocket bolt (2), by counterhold with the EN-51142  holding tool (1) in 2 passes:
   1. Tighten a first pass to 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
   2. Tighten a final pass an additional to 60 degrees, use the EN-45059  angle meter.
