Exhaust Manifold Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Re-cut the thread at cylinder head for the 8 exhaust manifold bolts.

Install NEW Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Gasket (3)
Install a NEW exhaust manifold gasket. (4)

NOTE:

Do not grab the exhaust manifold during assembly procedure at the EGR pipe as this is a sensitive part.

Install Exhaust Manifold (1)

NOTE:

Service may offer bolts without micro-encapsulated thread locking adhesive. If this is the case, apply thread locking adhesive to the bolt. Do NOT reuse old bolts.

Loosely install NEW Exhaust Manifold Bolts (5, 6) (Qty: 2) - Use NEW bolts.
Loosely install NEW Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Bolts (2) (Qty: 2) - Use NEW bolts.

Loosely install NEW Exhaust Manifold Bolts (1, 2) (Qty: 6) - Use NEW bolts.

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution

NOTE:

The complete tightening procedure should be completed within 10 minutes.

Tighten Exhaust Manifold Bolts (Qty: 6) in sequence
1. First Pass: 27 N.m (20 lb ft)
2. Second Pass: 27 N.m (20 lb ft)
3. Final Pass: 27 N.m (20 lb ft)
Tighten Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Bolts (1) (Qty: 2) to 10 N.m (89 lb in)
