Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition ON
- Verify DTC P0071, P0072, P0073, P0074, P00C7, P00E9, P00EA, P00EB, P00EC, P0101, P0102, P0103, P0106, P0107, P0108, P0111, P0112, P0113, P0114, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0119, P0128, P0335, P0336, P0405, P0406, P040B, P040C, P040D, P040E, P041B, P041C, P041D, P041E, P049D, P0722, P0723, P111E, P1428, P142A, P2227, P2228, P2229, P2230, P245C, or P262B is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Verify that none of the conditions listed below exist:
- Low engine coolant level
- Contaminated engine coolant
- Damaged, leaking, or restricted engine cooling system
- Damaged, leaking, or restricted EGR cooler and cooler pipes/hoses
- Disconnected, damaged, or missing EGR cooler bypass valve linkage
- EGR cooler bypass valve binding or stuck
- If a condition is found
Repair as necessary.
- Go to next step: If no condition is found
- Verify that DTC P2457 is not set.
- If the DTC is set
- Clear all DTCs with a scan tool
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
- Verify that DTC P2457 is not set.
- If a DTC is set, clean or replace the EGR cooler
- If no DTC is set.
- All OK.
- Go to next step: If no DTC is set
- All OK.
