Turbocharger System Description: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The variable vane position turbocharger is used to increase the power output of the engine by increasing the mass of the oxygen and therefore the fuel entering the engine. The turbocharger is mounted to the exhaust manifold and is driven by the energy generated by the flow of exhaust gas through the turbine, which is connected by a shaft to the compressor mounted in the induction system. The turbocharger utilizes a vane control actuator to vary the vane angle to manage the boost pressure as necessary.
