Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Install the nitrogen oxides sensor assembly to the vehicle.
- Install Exhaust Heat Shield Retainers (1) (Qty: 2)
- Install the nitrogen oxides sensor (1) to the exhaust pipe and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install Wiring Harness Retainers (1) (Qty: 3)
- Install both the nitrogen oxides sensor control module bracket (1) and the nitrogen oxides sensor control module (2) to the front compartment side rail studs (3).
- Install and tighten Nitrogen Oxides Sensor Nuts (1) (Qty: 2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
- Connect Electrical Connector (1)
- Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- If replacing, perform the NOx sensor 2 reset. Refer to NOx Sensor 2 Reset
- If replacing, perform the NOx catalyst reductant loading reset. Refer to NOx Catalyst Reductant Loading Reset
CAUTION:
Do not disconnect the nitrogen oxide sensor from the nitrogen oxide sensor control module. A separation of the two components may cause a defect on the nitrogen oxide sensor control module. Always replace the nitrogen oxide sensor along with the nitrogen oxide sensor control module as an assembly.

Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .
NOTE:
Do not bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position
