Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- Remove Front Wheelhouse Liner-Right Side. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Equinox)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Terrain)
- Remove Underbody Front Air Deflector. Refer to Underbody Front Air Deflector Replacement (Equinox)Underbody Front Air Deflector Replacement (Terrain)
- Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)
- Remove the 2 nitrogen oxides sensor control module nuts (1).
- Remove the nitrogen oxides sensor control module (2).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Unclip Wiring Harness Retainers (1) (Qty: 2)
- Remove Turbocharger Heat Shield. Refer to Turbocharger Heat Shield Replacement (LH7)
- Remove Nitrogen Oxides Sensor (2)
- Remove the nitrogen oxides sensor assembly from the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Do not disconnect the nitrogen oxide sensor from the nitrogen oxide sensor control module. A separation of the two components may cause a defect on the nitrogen oxide sensor control module. Always replace the nitrogen oxide sensor along with the nitrogen oxide sensor control module as an assembly.
NOTE:
Do not bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position
