Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9) .
  2. Remove Intake Manifold Cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
  3. Remove the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement .

  5. Install the EN-50885-2  locking tool.
    1. Install the housing (3) to the fuel injection pump driven sprocket nut (2). Ensure that the 3 tappets (1) mesh with the 3 slots of the fuel injection pump driven sprocket nut.
    2. Position the ring (4) to allow for installation of a 1/2 inch-drive extension.
    3. Install the fixing tool (5) into the fuel injection pump driven sprocket nut.

  7. Install a 1/2 inch-drive extension (1) to the EN-50885-2  locking tool (2) to counterhold.
  8. Loosen the fuel injection pump driven sprocket nut.

  10. Remove the fuel injection pump driven sprocket nut (1).

  12. Install the pressure spindle (1) to the EN-50885-2  locking tool (2).

  14. Press out the fuel injection pump sprocket (2), by screwing in the pressure spindle (4) into the EN-50885-2  fixing tool (1).
  15. Remove the fuel injection fuel pump driven sprocket.
  16. Remove the EN-50885-2  fixing tool from the fuel injection pump driven sprocket.
