Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Disconnect Electrical Connector (1) @ Exhaust Particulate Sensor Control Module (2)
- Remove Exhaust Particulate Sensor Control Module Bracket Nuts (3) (Qty: 2)
- Remove Wiring Harness Retainers (1) (Qty: 3) @ Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle
- Remove Exhaust Particulate Sensor (1)
CAUTION:
Do not bend the exhaust flex pipe more than 10 degrees in any direction. Bending of more than 10 degrees or twisting in a range of ± 0.5 degrees will damage the exhaust flex decoupler.
NOTE:
Secure the exhaust particulate sensor control module from falling down in order to prevent a defect on the control module.
NOTE:
Do NOT bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position.
