Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Do not bend the exhaust flex pipe more than 10 degrees in any direction. Bending of more than 10 degrees or twisting in a range of ± 0.5 degrees will damage the exhaust flex decoupler.

    NOTE:

    Do NOT bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position.

  1. Install and tighten Exhaust Particulate Sensor (1) to 45 N.m (33 lb ft)

  3. Install Wiring Harness Retainers (1) (Qty: 3) @ Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle

  5. Install Exhaust Particulate Sensor Control Module (2)
  6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  7. Install and tighten Exhaust Particulate Sensor Control Module Bracket Nuts (3) (Qty: 2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  8. Connect Electrical Connector (1) @ Exhaust Particulate Sensor Control Module (2)
  9. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  10. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  11. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  12. When the replacement is completed, use a scan tool to perform the appropriate reset functions. Refer to Control Module References
