Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW gasket. (3)
  2. Install Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Housing (1)
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  3. Install the 3 EGR cooler housing bolts (2, 4) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Reposition Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve Bracket (4)
  5. Install the turbocharger wastegate actuator vacuum control solenoid valve bracket bolt (3) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  6. Install Heater Outlet Hose (2)
  7. Install Quick Connector Clamp (1)

  8. Install Thermostat Bypass Hose (3) @ Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Housing (2)
  9. Install Thermostat Bypass Hose Clamp (1)

  10. Install a NEW gasket. (2)
  11. Install the exhaust manifold pipe (1) to the EGR cooler housing.
  12. Install the 2 exhaust manifold pipe bolts (3) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  13. Install the turbocharger actuator pipe bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  14. Reposition Exhaust Pressure Differential Sensor (1)
  15. Install and tighten Exhaust Pressure Differential Sensor Bolt (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  16. Connect Charge Air Bypass Regulator Solenoid Valve Inlet Tube (2) @ Exhaust Gas Recirculation Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve (1)

  17. Reposition Intake Manifold Brace (2)
  18. Install and tighten Intake Manifold Brace Bolts (1) (Qty: 4) to 10 N.m (89 lb in)

  19. Install Heater Inlet and Outlet Pipe Bracket (2)
  20. Install and tighten Heater Inlet Pipe Bracket Bolt (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  21. Connect the electrical connectors:
    1. Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve (6)
    2. Exhaust Gas Recirculation Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve (5)
    3. Exhaust Pressure Differential Sensor (4)
    4. Throttle Body (1)
  22. Reposition Engine Wiring Harness (2)
  23. Install Engine Wiring Harness Clip (3)

  24. Install and tighten Exhaust Pressure Differential Sensor Bracket Bolt (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  25. Reposition the radiator surge tank engine hose bracket (1) along with the radiator surge tank hose (4).
  26. Connect Radiator Surge Tank Overflow Hose (4) @ Thermostat Bypass Pipe (6)
  27. Install Radiator Surge Tank Overflow Hose Clamp (5)
  28. Connect Exhaust Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector (3)
  29. Install the radiator surge tank outlet hose bracket bolt (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  30. Install NEW Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Outlet Pipe Gasket (3)
  31. Install NEW Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Pipe Gasket (2)
  32. Install Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe (5)
  33. Install and tighten Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Bolts (1, 4) (Qty: 4) to 10 N.m (89 lb in)

  34. Connect Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector (1)
    35. Fig 15: Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose, Connector And Retainer Clip

  35. Reposition Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (2)
  36. Install Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (2) @ Retainer Clip (3)
  37. Connect Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Connector (1)

  38. Install Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2) @ Throttle Body. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement 
  39. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)
  40. Install Intake Manifold Cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
