Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement (FWD)

WARNING:

Allow sufficient time for the engine to cool before removing the ECT sensor. A hot engine may cause an excessive coolant loss or a personal injury.

CAUTION:

Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disconnect Battery Negative Cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  2. Remove Exhaust Front Pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LH7)
  3. Drain cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)
1 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
Procedure 
Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor electrical connector.
Tighten 
45 N.m (33 lb ft)
